This policy explains how information is handled in ChordMelo.
1. Information we collect
The Service requires no account and collects no personal information such as your name or email address. Chord progressions and settings you enter are processed only in your browser and are not stored on a server.
2. Analytics
Two analytics tools are used to understand how the site is used. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures anonymously without cookies. Google Analytics (GA4) uses cookies and similar technologies to report where visitors come from and which pages they read. No personal data such as names or email addresses is sent, and neither are the chord progressions you type. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a consent message from Google's certified consent management tool, and measurement follows that choice.
3. Usage counts
To decide what to improve, we record anonymous per-visit counts such as how many melodies were generated, how many were played back, how many MIDI files were saved, and which language was displayed. These records contain no IP address, user agent, country, referrer, or the chord progressions you entered. The value identifying a visit is temporary and discarded when you close the browser tab, so visits cannot be linked to the same person over time.
4. Browser storage
Recent settings and generation history may be stored on your device using localStorage. You can clear this from your browser settings.
5. Advertising
Some pages of this service show ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. We do not collect or store personal information for advertising purposes.
6. Ad settings
You can turn off personalised advertising at any time in Google's ad settings. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a consent message from Google's certified consent management tool, and ad personalisation follows that choice. Generating, previewing and saving MIDI remain free whether or not ads are shown. The pages below have the details.

For questions about this policy or the service, please write to the address below. Replies may take a few days. Messages sent through the contact form, and the reply address if you choose to enter one, are stored only to reply and to improve the service. No IP address or user agent is stored.
